Digitalisation of the construction industry through collaboration

RISE works to help the construction industry with digitalisation to support innovation, develop more efficient solutions and create new business opportunities.

Different industries have reached different levels of digitialisation. In June 2018, Tillväxtverket in Sweden released a report on digitalisation in Swedish companies, which shows that companies in the construction industry are behind in this area.

RISE has extensive experience and expertise within both construction and ICT. This gives RISE unique opportunities to create effective solutions by understanding both industries challenges and demands. The goal is to reduce the impact on the environment of the construction sector by using new technologies and new working methods, shorten planning and construction time, reduce overall production costs, and enable new innovations and businesses. The biggest gains are made through increased transparency where companies collaborate digitally and apply working methods that benefit from new technologies.

This collaborative initiative aims to help the construction industry in their digitialisation process and develop solutions for productivity enhancements, product development, testing and verification of digitalised components, user interfaces, etc.
