Life-cycle analysis for a sustainable future
We usually hear the term life-cycle analysis used in relation to products. How long is the expected working life of a hand mixer and what should we do with it when it no longer works? However, life-cycle analyses can also be conducted on the full range of human activities, from food production, packaging and electronic products to services such as doctor’s appointments and bus journeys. This is a method of determining the environmental impact of a product or service so that it can subsequently be developed in more sustainable direction.
