Omid Hosseinaei is a senior researcher at the RISE Research Institutes of Sweden. He has a Ph.D. in natural resource engineering with over 15 years of experience in biomass conversion, lignin valorization, bio-based composites, lignin-based materials, thermoplastics, and carbons. He has a strong background in the carbonization of biomass/lignin and producing different carbons for structural and non-structural applications. His research focuses on developing sustainable polymers and carbons for composites and energy-related applications such as energy storage.
Before joining RISE, he was working as a research associate at the University of Tennessee. His research at the University of Tennessee focused on biomass valorization, polymers, composites, and carbon fibers.
