The National Laboratory for Force and Torque

RISE is Sweden's NMI (National Metrology Institute) and is, according to the Swedish constitution, responsible for the central measurement quantities in the International System of Units, SI.

In order to improve Swedish competitiveness in measurement technology, we have equipment, methods and skills that are recognized and accepted in all other countries.
We participate in international benchmarking and have full traceability.
This is then transferred directly to a company or to a calibration laboratory, which in turn calibrates their power and torque measuring equipment.

We develop new calibration standards, measuring equipment and methods to improve Swedish competitiveness in the measurement technology. This work is mainly done in conjunction with Swedish industry, universities, colleges and National Metrology Institutes in other countries.

We have equipment to be able to calibrate power from 0.5 N to 6000 kN and calibrate torque from 0.1 Nm to 5000 Nm.
