Roeland Bisschop is a project manager at RISE. He is active in fire testing and investigations as well as training and research in the field of vehicles, ships and flammable goods.
Roeland is responsible for one of RISE’s unique test methods, i.e. SP Method 2369. This method evaluates fire safety cabinets for storage of inflammable goods in retail environments. Recently this method has been updated to reflect the critical temperatures associated with aerosol cans.
Before RISE, Roeland worked in an EU Horizon 2020 project called WRIST. Here he modelled friction and aluminothermic welding of railways through computer simulations. Roeland is a graduate in Mechanical Engineering with an M.Sc. from Chalmers.
