Technical fire test for evaluation of flammability of textiles, coated fabrics or building materials up to 3.5 mm in thickness.
The product can be classified according to Boverkets Allmänna råd 1993:2 Utgåva 2 after testing. The class is “material difficult to ignite”.
To be allowed to use a public tent building, the cloth has to fulfil Boverkets allmänna råd. The tent cloth needs to be tested and approved prior to use in a tent building. When in use, the cloth needs to be tested on a regular basis to prove continous compliance.
Test specimens are taken in both warp and weft directions. The same warp and weft threads shall not exist on several test specimens. The test takes place inside a test chamber with an open ceiling and an opening on the front side bottom. The conditioned test specimen is suspended in a vertical position and held in place by clamps. The test specimen is ignited at the lower end by a gas flame. After the removal of the gas flame, the time until the test specimen self-extinguish is measured and also the damaged length of the specimen.
A test report, in Swedish or English, is delivered with the test results after testing.
