Construction products, dynamic surface leaching test

In some cases, in order to ensure that construction products do not emit hazardous substances to water and soil, there are requirements for products to be leached in accordance with SIS-CEN /TS 16637-2.

Purpose

The leaching and the analyses of the leachate give you as a customer information on whether the product meets the requirements or not.

 

Method

The leaching according to SIS-CEN/TS 16637-2 takes place in several steps and the total leaching time according to the standard is 64 days. Leaching takes place in water at room temperature. In all leaching steps, samples can be taken for analysis of, for example metals, anions, pH and conductivity.

Delivery time

Normal delivery time is about 3 months, the leaching itself takes 64 days. The leaching can, if the customer so wishes, be done for a shorter time.
