Analysis of gas on GC/FTIR

Through the gas analysis, the chemical composition in gaseous samples can be determined. This is done by means of gas chromatographs (GC) and spectrometer (FTIR).

Purpose

The purpose of the analysis is to give the total gas composition in the sample.

The service can be used to determine the chemical composition in gaseous samples. For example, to detect air pollution and emissions.

Method

The bags are filled by the customer or by RISE's staff and sent to RISE ETC for analysis. RISE ETC has calibration gases that can be used to identify and quantify the following substances: He, H2, O2, N2, CH4, C2H2, C2H4, C2H6, propylene / propane, some higher hydrocarbons, and sulfur-containing gases such as H2S, COS, methyl mercaptan, dimethyl sulfide and dimethyl disulfide . The FTIR analysis is performed with a FTIR from MKS with a method developed for diesel exhaust
