Safety, security and integrity are challenged by connection and automation and the electrical architecture must be structured to enable leadership in safety and fuel economy.
The project will build expertise in the field of electric architecture for the cars of tomorrow to strengthen the competitiveness of the Swedish automotive industry and strengthen research in the area for each partner.
The cars of tomorrow are green, safe and connected. Increasing functionality is implemented in an ever more complex software, and flexibility and short development times are required. This requires the car's electrical architecture to be efficiently structured to be a leader in safety and fuel economy. With more and more connected vehicles, where the car can be seen as part of a System-of-Systems (SoS), new features, such as automated driving, also add to the complexity of the product and add new challenges in respect of safety and integrity.
The project will develop processes, perform studies and prove concepts in the above-described areas. This includes preparing decision basis for how a future electric architecture can look, analysing how the automotive industry can adapt to support a development process based on continuous integration and deployment, analysing how the architecture can meet the requirement to be a part of a system of systems as well as analysing how architecture is adapted to modern communication links, security and privacy requirements, and the use of modern multi-core microprocessors where processes of different critical levels can be mixed
The project is expected to contribute to increasing the competitiveness of the Swedish automotive industry, strengthening research in the area and contributing to the exchange between different groups.
