Multifunctional glass with integrated control system

The project develops smart multifunctional glass for both outdoor and indoor applications in buildings and vehicles. The added features are to be interconnected with a smart electronics system and ready for implementation in building automation systems, smart home solutions and vehicle systems.

The project studies added functionality to glass for applications in buildings and vehicles. The foundation lies in electrochromic (dynamic sunscreen) glass commonly used for user comfort and energy saving purposes.

The goal is to develop a flexible solution that can be tailored to different customer needs and is ready for integration with building automation systems and electronic vehicle systems.

The development of smart electronic systems is a common area of interest for the involved industrial partners. An area that they all see as strategically important for future development and international competitiveness.

New product developed in a cross-sectoral cooperation

The project creates a unique opportunity for industry partners to meet around this challenge and have cross-sectoral discussions on future solutions and cooperation opportunities.

A successful project enables a completely new product range that can be tailored to the needs of the customer and offer solutions that do not exist on the market today.

The product is expected to be applied in, for example, windows, facades, interior walls and panorama roofs in vehicles.
