Digital platform to promote mental well-being and health

Being one step ahead and supporting young people, one can help to increase mental health. We are developing a digital platform that offers various services that can promote mental health in several areas. In this way we can contribute to increased mental well-being.

RISE has been assigned by Region Stockholm to develop a digital platform that can provide various informative, supportive and guiding services with the intention of improving young people's mental health and well-being. The project is currently focusing at young people between the ages of 13 and 25. In the long term, Region Stockholm aims to give all age groups access to the digital platform and to scale it up at national level.

At present, quality assured guidance for digital services for the promotion of mental health and well-being outside of health care is missing and it is difficult for the individual to navigate among the large number of digital offers.

The digital platform should offer a unified approach to information and digital services that can promote mental health and well-being in a structured way. The initial idea is that when visiting the platform you will get a number of questions, in order to be able to be forwarded to the right service, or alternatively with the opportunity to search and choose a service yourself. The idea is to provide a platform that can gather scientifically substantiated advice and that can help identify services that match individual needs to develop abilities and skills of importance to mental health in the population.

The initiative is based on the World Health Organization's definition of mental health as "a state of mental well-being where every individual can realize their own potential, can cope with normal stress, can work productively and can contribute to the family and society in which they live".
