Machine safety and environmental aspects
A lorry, a dishwasher or a vacuum cleaner; all examples of machines we routinely use. They are found in industry, in public spaces and in our homes. However, machines are a safety risk and may affect us due to their construction and emissions. They therefore need to be safe and function over time. Research and development into the safety and environmental aspects of machines may in turn lead to fewer accidents, an improved work environment and, ultimately, to greater innovation.
