Lightweight Membership programme
Lightweight Member Programme is an industry-driven network and research program. As a member, you get a unique network of large and small companies as well as universities and institutes active in lightweight technology.
The use of lightweight constructions and materials is increasing in several industries. Lightweight often makes products cheaper to use and transport or easier to handle. Today we see the development of lightweight constructions in, for example, vehicles, aircraft, marine, workshop, construction, energy and infrastructure.
Lightweight also plays a major role in increasing efficiency and lowering the environmental impact – demands that have an ever-greater impact on competitiveness both locally and globally.
Two parts – a whole
Lightweight Member Programme has over 65 members and offers valuable membership benefits in lightweight technology. In 2013, the members started the Strategic Innovation Programme LIGHTer, which RISE also hosts. Since then, they both have a close collaboration and share operational management.

More than 65 organizations are currently members of the Lightweight Membership programme. As a member you get a unique network of large and small companies as well as universities and institutes working in lightweight technology. Together we take a joint national responsibility for developing world-leading lightweight technology in Sweden.
What you get as a member:
- Study visits to member organizations in conjunction with our network meetings
- Suggest, participate in and benefit from strategic initiatives
- Participate and vote at Lightweight Membership programme's and SIP LIGHTer's annual meetings
- Access to the ELCA (European Lightweight Cluster Alliance) network
- Selected membership discounts at lightweight conferences and courses
- Free access to web-based courses and a discount on classroom courses
Any company with a Swedish organization number can apply for membership in the Lightweight Membership programme.
Membership
Membership fee:
0-50 employees: SEK 5,000 per year
51-250 employees: SEK 15,000 per year
251-500 employees: SEK 25,000 per year
>500 employees: SEK 120,000 kper year
Non-profit members have the opportunity to apply to pay their fee in the form of a qualified indigent instead.
