Radiation emissions from concrete

Measurement of radon gas emissions/release from concrete.

Measurement of the radon gas emissions from concrete has a vital function to the regulations set up by the National Board of Housing, Building and Planning as well as the National Radiation Safety Authority in Sweden. By measuring a basic knowledge of the radon gas emissions rates of the product will be known and consequently, the radon gas production rates can be linked to the rates in air within a pre-defined room. The calculations within a predefined room is in regard to the threshold values of radon gas (200 Bq/m3), that is today valid for residentuals and worker employees in an Indoor Environment.

Measurements of the radon gas emissions can also be executed for other materials such as aggregates.

We guide you with any questions you may have regarding radon- and gamma emissions from building materials.
