Solar Power In Nothern Conditions

The test bed Solar Power In Northern Conditions is mostly used to test ;and evaluate how cold climate and the ratio of solar irradiance on northern latitude affects for example yield and mechanical strength, including components.

Solar power installations have increased significantly in Sweden. In northern Sweden there is a great interest for solar power, but there is still a lack of knowledge and experience when it comes to resource effective use of solar power in northern conditions. Northern conditions refer partly to cold climate and partly to the solar irradiance ratio that northern latitudes cause. A cold climate brings both assets, such as snow reflection and more effective solar cells, and challanges, such as the risk of snow-covered modules being unable to produce when the sun shines.

The Solar Power In Northern Conditions test bed is mostly used for:

  • Research
  • Clients representation (counseling)
  • Inspection of incumbent establishments
  • Testing of PV-related products
