The Naked Truth!

Welcom to a webinar presenting research findings from projects on the Circular Economy and the textile industry.

Humanity’s per-capita clothing consumption has doubled in the past 50 years with devastating impacts to the global environment. What can businesses and policy makers do to encourage a transition to a lower-impact, more circular clothing economy?

Join us for a captivating two-hour webinar with RISE Research Institutes of Sweden and textile industry leaders. We will delve into our most recent research findings from multiple research projects.

Presentations will answer intriguing questions such as:

  • Why do some consumers buy used and recycled jeans while others don’t?
  • How can we balance the demands of the circular economy with new EU chemical regulations in clothing production?
  • What are the trends in clothing usage patterns?

Research presentations will be followed by a panel discussion with comments from leaders of the textile industry including:

  • Kevin Gelsi, Sustainability Coordinator, Nudie Jeans
  • Malva Carlsson, Sustainability Coordinator, Houdini
  • Karin Gardström, Product Engineer- Sustainability, Voyado
  • Carl Dalhammar, Associate Professor IIIEE, Lund University

Participating projects are funded with support from Formas, Produktion 2030, Re:Source, and Handelsrådet The Swedish Retail and Wholesale Council.
