Contact SaraHow to secure electricity supply in case of crisis or cyber threat? One solution is to build up local and regional energy islands. Are you curious about how energy islands works in practice? Learn more, experience and discuss this on a conference the 17-18th of October in Ludvika.
Ludvika is often described as Sweden's leading energy town. The town has invested heavily in solar power. The surplus from solar power is stored in a battery in the Krafttanken, one of the world's two largest transformer boxes. Thanks to this energy storage, Ludvika can ensure energy supply to critical functions in the event of a crisis.
RISE and the High Voltage Valley now invites you to a conference on energy island operation on site in Ludvika, where you will have the opportunity to experience the energy storage system in practice!
The aim of the conference is to discuss what is required to get started with energy island operation, which actors to involve as well as technical opportunities and challenges. You will also learn about good examples, not least Ludvika's own Krafttanken.
You find the conference programme in the pdf further down this page. The programme is divided into three parts, choose which parts you want to participate in. The content is continuously updated and speakers are added. The same pdf also contains information about accommodation and dinner.
