Keynote on space data lab and a workshop session on network edge at the EBDVF 2021

The European Big Data Value Forum (EBDVF) is the flagship event of the European Big Data and Data-Driven AI Research and Innovation community organised by the BDVA and the European Commission (DG CNECT). The EBDVF brings together industry professionals, business developers, researchers and policy-makers from all over Europe and other regions of the world to advance policy actions in the areas of Data and AI.
EBDVF 2021 theme is “Digital Transformation powered by Data and AI”. We approach the theme from the sectorial and cross-sectorial angle. The programme tracks are structured to cover strategic aspects of technological challenges and impact, discussing the topics of adoption of industrial and trustworthy AI, Data Spaces, Data-Driven business models, standardization, societal impacts and many others. On Monday November 29 Ann-Christin Eriksson held a sponsor keynote on the topic "Earth Observation and AI for the benefit of the Society: a national Space Data Lab initiative". The presentation covered the Swedish initiative to develop a national Space Data Lab based on ESA Copernicus Program. The lab aims to be a knowledge and datahub for actors working with Earth Observation (EO) and AI.
Then we organized a session “Innovation in Edge Computing – case studies”, on Friday December 3rd. Dario Sabella from Intel / ETSI MEC talked about "What’s hot from ETSI MEC and the ETSI MEC Hackathon?", Alfonso Carillo, OpenNebula presented "The ONEedge project at OpenNebula" and finally Emil Svanbergof RISE talked about "A live 5G SA network with Edge Computing"
