Learn how to calculate the fire resistance of timber structures according to the existing and new calculation models in Eurocode 5. Learn to use the software SPFiT 2.0. 50% discount on a one-year user license to the COMPUTER PROGRAM SPFiT 2.0 is given for the course participants.
SPFiT (SP Fire in Timber) 2.0 is a simple and user-friendly tool that has been developed for the calculation according to existing and scientifically verified calculation models in Europe - calculation models in Eurocode 5 and calculation models not yet included in Eurocode 5. The methods are described in the handbooks Fire Safety in Timber Buildings and Brandsäkra Trähus 3. The new methods are quite complicated to use without aids, which initiated the development of the program. This course gives you knowledge of the methods and program as well as a one-year user license at half the price.
SPFiT 2.0 includes timber slabs, columns and beams, as well as timber frame assemblies with rectangular cross-sections and with the I-joists. The fire resistance of both separation and load-bearing structures can be calculated.
