Battery Safety

This training course is designed to ensure that both employers and employees understand the main risks and the necessary controls when handling lithium-ion batteries. This course will help you understand the risks associated to lithium-ion batteries and how to reduce the risks regarding fire hazards, electrical hazards and energy hazards.

Topics that will be covered include:

• Risks with lithium-ion batteries
• Cell failure, thermal runaway and thermal propagation
• How to detect lithium-ion battery fires and how to best mitigate these fires
• Safety testing of batteries including standardized testing as well as ad hoc testing
• Risk analysis
• Electrical safety, including laws and regulations that govern our work
