Anders ha a PhD in Fire Technology, with a focus on fire dynamics in tunnels. Over the years he has performed research on e.g. emissions from fires and application and spread of fire fighting foams. Today, in addition to tunnels, much of Anders' research focuses on fire safety in relation to storage och biofuels and waste. This also includes studies on selfheating properties. Anders is the convener of the working groups ISO/TC238/WG7 (Safety of solid biofuels) and ISO/TC300/WG6 (Safety of solid recovered fuels). He is the leader of the competence platform Fuel Storage Safety (FSS). Anders also studies cascading effects and resilience and was within RISE until recently the leader of the focus area Resilient cities and societies. Andres is director of the Fire Protection unit within the Safety Research department.
